Edukasi Masyarakat Kampung Lengkong, Desa Wisata Wates Jaya, Kabupaten Bogor, tentang Keamanan Pangan

Makanan seharusnya tak hanya bercita rasa lezat, tetapi yang tak kalah penting tentunya juga harus aman untuk dimakan. Kasus keracunan makanan pastinya sudah sering terdengar, namun seringkali masih disepelekan. Bagaimana sebuah makanan bisa memiliki risiko menyebabkan keracunan makanan? Edukasi ini diberikan kepada masyarakat Kampung Lengkong, Desa Wisata Wates Jaya, Kabupaten Bogor, pada tanggal Agustus 2020 lalu. Sebagai desa wisata, masyarakat tentunya harus paham betul prinsip keamanan pangan yang harus selalu diterapkan dalam mempersiapkan, mengolah, dan menyimpan makanan yang akan disajikan kepada para wisatawan. Kegiatan ini dilakukan melalui presentasi, diskusi, dan praktik. Pada sesi diskusi diketahui bahwa masih banyak masyarakat yang kurang memahami tentang bahaya penggunaan bahan kimia, seperti pewarna dan pemanis, yang bukan khusus untuk makanan. Di sesi praktik, akhirnya dicoba membuat rengginang menggunakan pewarna khusus makanan yang aman dikonsumsi.
